The TOP SUPPORT pieces will be slid into place in order to support the top plexiglass. The NUT ORIENTATION is important for a proper fit (see below). Additionally, the washer should be on the inside of the plexiglass. Having sliding TOP SUPPORTS allows for easily running cords in and out if your setup changes.
